Business Attraction - Kentucky Aluminum Network

The production and processing of aluminum is big business in Northwest Kentucky and it is big business in Kentucky. As one of the state’s signature industries, aluminum is responsible for nearly 10,000 jobs in the Commonwealth. And with more than a third of all US aluminum production focused in this region, it is easy to understand why.
Yet, for the all the importance of this signature industry, there is no statewide voice for aluminum. The interests of these companies and the communities that support them are not represented broadly to the state, media, or other stakeholders.
Northwest Kentucky Forward has joined with Rio Tinto Alcan, Hydro Aluminum, Eastern Alloys, Henderson Riverport Authority, and aluminum companies and supporters from through the state to form the Kentucky Aluminum Network or KAN. KAN is really an outgrowth of NWKF local aluminum group, Northwest Kentucky Aluminum Network.
NWKF believes that a vibrant and growing aluminum industry is important to retaining and growing good jobs in our region.
Business Retention— Community Stalwart to Expand
Allstate Tower Company, a growing existing employer in Northwest Kentucky, recently announced plans to consolidate its Henderson operations and expand employment.
The company has started work on an 18,750 sq. ft. facility that will allow the company to better handle existing activity and planned future growth. The $3 million investment will also allow the company to add additional jobs and prepare for future growth. The company has purchased the last lot in Henderson Corporate Park
Allstate Tower currently has its manufacturing facility in Corydon, KY, and its headquarters in Henderson. The new facility will combine these operations under one roof.
Business Development--Entrepreneurism Partner Recognized Again
NWKF partners with Community Ventures Corp, a Lexington-based not-for-profit, to provide entrepreneurship programming in the region. CVC has been recognized several times in recent years for being a leader in this type of development including being named the Microenterprise Lender of the Year for Kentucky by the SBA.
In November, CVC received another allocation of New Market Tax Credits by the US Treasury for $25 million. CVC is the largest recipient of NMTC in the Commonwealth and has now received an allocation all 6 times it has applied. CVC is a great partner for NWKF and provides loan products and assistance that otherwise would not be available in our region.
